Emberfall Chronicle
Emberfall Chronicle is the kind of RPG you settle into for long sessions. You build a party of four, poke at a skill tree that rewards planning, and work through a story about a collapsing border kingdom that takes its time but pays off. Combat is turn-based and readable, with clear telegraphs for enemy moves.
On a phone it holds up better than I expected. The UI scales well, and there's an auto-battle for the grind that you can switch off whenever a fight actually matters. Portrait mode works for exploring; I flipped to landscape for boss fights where I wanted to see the whole field.
Battery is the honest downside — the 3D scenes and particle-heavy spells will warm the phone up after half an hour. Plug in for the long dungeon crawls. But the writing and the party chemistry kept pulling me back, which is the whole point of a game like this.
